Dala Horse Ornament

Horses in Sweden are symbols of strength and courage. Traditionally, dala horses were carved by workers in the forests in the Dalarna region, and treasured as toys by children. I feel connected to this swedish symbol through my swedish grandmother, Aina, whom I loved dearly. Dala horses make an appearance each holiday season in my home and now you too can decorate for Julsäsongen with this holiday ornament. Each ornament is handpainted in a traditional pattern. This ornament is finished in a clear glaze with gold adornment. Measures 8.5cm x 8cm.
